If you’re a middle or high school girl interested in computers, programming, or technology in general, this club is for you. It’s going to be awesome! We are a Girls Who Code chapter at Calvin University. Why join? You will be learning about programming and technology in a fun environment. Beginners are welcome – no prior knowledge required!

This will be Calvin's sixth year hosting free Girls Who Code clubs, welcoming girls from local schools, and meeting weekly throughout the school year. Activities include: learning in a computer lab setting, taking trips to local technology companies, and thinking about solving problems using technology. Girls will present about women in computing.

Virtual Computer Science and Arts for All Jr. (CSA4All-JR) camp is a program developed by the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering to introduce students to computer science, computational thinking concepts and applications using computer and robotics programming frameworks, such as Scratch, Ear Sketch, and Lego EV3 Robotics (via web based simulation platforms).

CSA4All Jr is intended for 6th–8th graders and will be held online on the following Saturdays: October 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st and November 7th. The program will occur from 9 am to 2 pm Central Time with a 1 hour lunch break.

Each camper will need a desktop or laptop computer with a stable Internet connection and access to Zoom.

Girls in AI presents a project-based curriculum to teach students the fundamentals of data science and artificial intelligence using Python, associated libraries, and Microsoft Azure ML Studio. Each week, students will get the chance to meet amazing female role models in tech, learn about applying AI to drive change in the world, and learn in an exciting and welcoming environment.

Our International App Design Hackathon is a weekend long innovation thinking challenge where girls will learn prototyping tools such as Figma and Thunkable to build apps as a viable solution to a world-wide issue. The topic will be introduced at the start of the hackathon, launching our event. No programming experience required!
