AIHacks is a high school all-female hackathon that gives participants the opportunity to explore AI/ML and apply these concepts to a variety of real-world problems. Through workshops, panels, and lectures, the goal is to change girls’ perceptions of tech and ultimately inspire them to pursue their computing interests.

Our camp will last one weekend. The first day will be a day of learning to code in blocks or JavaScript, depending on participants' level. The second day will focus on coding projects. We will include guest speakers, one field trip, and a college tour.

Girls will learn the basics of coding and computational thinking. Each day will consist of an unplugged activity, followed by a "lab" session where they’ll apply the activity’s theme to create programs using block code. Afterwards, the girls will also apply this theme to program a robot (Sphero).

Girls Got IT! Scratch Programming Workshop

Girls will be introduced to the basic principles of Scratch programming. They will learn to create storyboards with scenes, dialogues, and actions to make their project interactive, as well as learning to create complex games. The program theme is environmental issues with a focus on saving energy and waste reduction.

HelloGirlPR is a program that teaches elementary school girls from the east coast/center of Puerto Rico about the basics of programming and how to express their creativity through coding. They will also learn about important societal issues and spread awareness through their skills, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary problem-solving.
