More About the Program

IT Empowerment for Her is a three-day app development workshop for middle school girls. Participants will meet IT professionals and mentors to help guide them through STEM careers and courses. You will learn basic CS logic and build your own Android apps using MIT App Inventor. Using your new understanding of CS, you will team up to create your own community-impacting apps. By the end of the session, we hope you will have a new view on the IT field and will feel empowered to pursue a technology career if you choose. The program will be held on June 27th - 29th from 10 am to 3 pm each day at the University of Texas at Dallas, which is located in Richardson, TX. More specific information will be provided to registered applicants in early June. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please email Saumya at
