More About the Program
This program is completely virtual/online. No prior coding knowledge is required! Program is open to 7th and 8th grade girls (Troy, MI & surrounding areas).
By registering interest, participants are agreeing to attend at least 80% of the meetings and to be punctual.
We recommend this because our lessons build on one another. Attending classes on time and being present allows the participant to build confidence, enjoy the experience, and learn to code!
From this program, participants will...
- Acquire a foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including how to use HTML tags, CSS properties, and Google Fonts.
- Code a website—a creative and logical endeavor. Will apply coding concepts to create tangible products (websites).
- Gain experience with the engineering process, from concept design to a final website through iterative prototyping, assessment, and redesign.
- Learn to share thoughts and projects with other participants—develop voice and confidence in the classroom.
- Realize the potential they have to create an individual or group website.
