More About the Program

The two main goals are that participants will be able to create their own HTML website and that they will feel engaged in STEM and interested in continuing to educate themselves about computing disciplines.

We will be conducting two after school sessions per week in which we will engage the girls in different activities to achieve these goals. During the first session, they will be working on VEX robotics with NASA experts. The second day will be about HTML programming and web development. The sessions will be conducted through Zoom, since most of the girls are used to using it for their online instruction days.

For the second goal, we will have plenty of activities that are not programming-related. This will serve as a break for the kids but also as a learning experience. We will conduct STEM icebreakers, have guest speakers, and have casual conversations with the girls. Sometimes, these will be full sessions or just activities in the middle of a session.
