Girls Code: Advanced is a weekly class that will teach girls in grades 6-9 how to build and code robots using Arduino. By the end of the five-week-long class, the girls will design, build, and code their own robot to help solve an environmental issue of their choice.

All sessions will be held at the Rockville Memorial Library on Saturdays from 2-5 pm.

Session 1: 2/29/2020 - 3/28/2020

Session 2: 4/4/2020 - 5/2/2020

Session 3: 5/9/2020 - 6/13/2020 (no class on 5/30/2020)

More About the Program

Participants must have previous experience with Arduinos OR have been enrolled in our beginner sessions. Please bring a laptop (no Chromebooks, please) if possible to each class. If you cannot bring a laptop, that is OK; we will provide them. Please bring paper and pencils to every session.

Week 2: Introduction to light sensors, second Arduino challenge

Week 3: Introduction to ultrasonic sensor, third Arduino challenge

Week 4: Introduction to humidity sensor, fourth Arduino challenge

Week 5: Explore an "environment" of your choice remotely using all sensors.
