A group of sixteen girls will have the opportunity to explore different STEM activities. The target audience is 4th-6th grade. Activities will be as follows: 3D Interface Design, Edison Python/drag, and drop coding and E-textiles. Tinkercad, a drag and drop interface, will be used for 3D interface design, which sounds a lot scarier then it is! This activity will allow girls to create a design have it printed as a keychain or a pair of earrings. Edison, a codable robot, can be coded using Python or drag and drop. The girls will be taught drag and drop because it is easier for beginners to grasp. E-textiles, also known as smart garments, are fabrics that enable digital components such as LEDs and electronics to be embedded in them. For this activity, girls will be able to learn how to stitch simple circuits. The girls will be able to explore a little of each topic to further develop their technology skills. Girls will need to bring a lunch and $5 weekly to cover snacks.
